The Lifesaver on Your Phone: How to Create an Emergency Medical ID

Did you know that your smartphone can be a lifesaver in emergency situations? That's right! By setting up an Emergency Medical ID on your phone, you can provide critical health information to first responders even if you can't communicate. So, let's get started!

Just a quick reminder, we offer a service to help you with this very thing. We`ll not only make these changes for you, but we`ll also walk you through the process, step-by-step, so you'll know exactly what`s involved. This way, you`re not just getting immediate help, but also learning how to make similar adjustments by yourself in the future. Remember, our aim is to make technology work for you, in a way that`s comfortable and easy.

Step 1: Locate the Health App

If you're an Apple user, look for the Health App on your home screen (it's the one with a heart). For Android users, you can find similar settings under the "Emergency Information" section in your phone settings.

Step 2: Open Your Medical ID

In the Health App on an iPhone, tap on the bottom right where it says 'Medical ID.' For Android users, once you're in the "Emergency Information" section, look for the option to add or edit information.

Step 3: Edit Your Information

You will see an 'Edit' button at the top right of the screen for Apple users. Android users should see an 'Add Information' or 'Edit' option. Tap on it!

Step 4: Enter Your Medical Information

Here, you can add any vital information. This includes medical conditions, allergies, medications you're on, your blood type, and an emergency contact.

Only include what you're comfortable with sharing.

Step 5: Make Sure it's Accessible When Your Phone is Locked

For iPhone users, make sure the 'Show When Locked' option is switched on. This allows your Medical ID to be accessed from your locked screen. For Android users, this information should already be accessible from the lock screen.

Step 6: Save Your Changes

Once you've entered all your information, don't forget to save! On an iPhone, simply press 'Done'. Android users should see a similar option to save or confirm changes.

And just like that, you've turned your phone into a potential lifesaver. While we all hope that emergencies won't happen, it's always better to be prepared.
